We are seeking a hands-on Dinner Shift Manager to lead our evening operations and deliver the exceptional hospitality that sets our restaurant apart. This is an active leadership position—not a desk job. The ideal candidate can confidently perform and support every major restaurant function, including serving guests, cooking, working the pit, preparing food, and maintaining a clean and organized operation.

You will lead by example, develop the evening team, and ensure that every guest receives warm, attentive service and consistently high-quality food.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate dinner-shift operations from opening handoff through closing.
• Create a welcoming environment where every guest feels seen, valued, and well cared for.
• Work wherever needed, including serving, cooking, food preparation, working the pit, cleaning, and supporting order fulfillment.
• Coach, motivate, and hold team members accountable while maintaining a positive workplace.
• Assign stations and responsibilities based on business needs and employee strengths.
• Monitor food quality, presentation, portioning, ticket times, and order accuracy.
• Respond professionally to guest questions, concerns, and service-recovery situations.
• Maintain high standards for cleanliness, sanitation, food safety, and workplace safety.
• Ensure opening, shift-change, and closing procedures are completed correctly.
• Monitor inventory and supplies and communicate shortages or operational concerns.
• Handle cash, deposits, point-of-sale procedures, and shift reporting as assigned.
• Communicate clearly with ownership, management, kitchen staff, and front-of-house employees.
• Help train new employees in service, food preparation, safety, and hospitality standards.
• Maintain composure and make good decisions during busy or challenging periods.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant, food-service, or hospitality experience required.
• Supervisory or shift-lead experience strongly preferred.
• Ability and willingness to learn and perform every restaurant position.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and guest-service skills.
• Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
• Dependable, punctual, and comfortable taking responsibility for the shift.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the lifting, bending, reaching, and repetitive movements required in restaurant operations.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Food-handler or manager certification required or obtainable within the employer’s specified timeframe.
