• TheAdultMultispecialtyCritical CareAPP Fellowshipis an innovative one-year training program that teaches APP fellows to become highly skilled in the multidisciplinary, collaborative, and evidence-based management of complex and challenging patients inthecritical caresetting.

• The curriculum is composed of multi-modal learning opportunities that may include the following: in-person didactics, online classrooms, simulation, proctoredprocedures,and/or mentored clinical rotations.

• The APP fellow will havea strong foundationin evidence-based practice and ensure an environment of safe, quality care.

• TheAdultMultispecialtyCritical CareAPP fellow will have a variety of experiences caring forcritically ill patients in intensive care units.These experiences include both general and specialty care for mixed medical and surgical patient populations. The APP fellow will alsohavethe opportunitytorotate with inpatient services that support critically ill patients.

Schedule:

• 1.0 FTE (full time)

• Salaried(exempt)

• APP fellows receive compensation during the program.APPfellow salary is $75,000 and paid out as per MCW standard. Taxes and deductions apply.

• Typical schedule:Fellows can expect to work 8 to 13-hour shifts with variable start times by rotation, work both day and night shift and some weekends.Expected clinical hours39 hoursper week, with 5-8 hours ofadditionaleducation.

• Weekend and/or holiday requirements:Expected to workapproximately every3rdweekend during ICU rotations. Expected to work up to 3 holidays per program year.

• Ability to pick up extra shifts:Moonlighting in the inpatient environment insecondhalf ofprogram.

ProgramHighlights:

• The APP Adult Critical Care Fellowship is an innovative 12-month training program that teaches APP fellows to become highly skilled in the multidisciplinary, collaborative, and evidence-based management of complex andcritically-illpatients in intensive care units. It attracts NPs and PAs seeking a structured educational program tosupport and guide their development of proficient clinical decision making and their application of specialized skillsthrough hands on learning and diverse experiencesin the care of the critically ill.

• Fellows will have core rotations incritical care includingICU rotations in medicine, surgeryandtrauma,neurology, cardiovascular andtransplant.Fellows complete acute care rotations ininfectious disease, palliative care,interventional radiology, critical care nutrition, inpatient procedures, diabetes management,airwayandelective rotationsproviding specialty health care serviceswithin defined scope of practice in collaboration with a licensed physician andin accordance withMCW/FMLH policies and procedures.

Advanced Practice Nurse/ Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner (APN/ APNP):

• Master's Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization

• Wisconsin RN License

• Wisconsin APNP License

• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)

• DEAEligible (notrequiredfor the position)

• Nurse Practitioner Certification from a nationally accredited professional nursing organization

• Adult-Gerontology Acute Care NP ( AGACNP )- Preferred

• Adult-Gerontology Primary Care NP ( AGPCNP )-Eligible with 1 year APP Practice in the acute care setting

• Family NP ( FNP )- Eligible with 1 year APP Practice in the acute care setting

Physician Assistant (PA):

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accreditedorganization

• Wisconsin PA License

• Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)

• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
