Responsibilities
- Circulate in the CVOR during surgical cases, maintaining a sterile field and supporting the surgical team
- Assist with instrument handling, placement, and retrieval; verify instrument counts
- Monitor patient status intraoperatively; advocate for patient safety and comfort
- Communicate with anesthesia and surgical staff regarding patient condition, equipment needs, and case progression
- Manage room turnover, supply management, and equipment readiness for subsequent cases
- Document intraoperative events and ensure adherence to perioperative policies and safety standards
- Float to clinically appropriate units as needed, within licensure, scope of practice, and demonstrated competencies

Requirements
- Active Illinois Registered Nurse license
- Current CPR/BLS
- ACLS certification
- Certifications may be required for specific units (e.g., PALS, TNCC, NIHSS) depending on unit assignment
- Perioperative or CVOR nursing experience preferred
- Ability to float to other clinically appropriate units within scope and competency
- Ability to work the stated days shift (0600-1430) and participate in call as required
