Position Overview

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Benefits Specialist for a nonprofit organization in New York City. This temporary-to-permanent opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented HR professional with strong knowledge of employee benefits administration who can confidently manage day-to-day benefits activities while providing excellent employee support.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, retirement, and other applicable offerings.
• Coordinate new-hire enrollments, qualifying life events, and benefits changes.
• Serve as a primary resource for employee benefits questions, eligibility, coverage, and enrollment processes.
• Maintain accurate benefits records and employee information within HRIS and benefits platforms.
• Partner with benefits carriers, brokers, and internal HR team members to resolve discrepancies and employee concerns.
• Assist with annual open enrollment, employee communications, and benefits-related reporting.
• Support benefits reconciliations, audits, and ongoing process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable benefits policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in employee benefits administration, ideally within a Benefits Specialist or Benefits Coordinator capacity.
• Strong understanding of benefits plans, enrollment procedures, eligibility requirements, and employee support.
• Familiarity with HRIS and benefits administration systems.
• Knowledge of applicable benefits regulations, including COBRA, HIPAA, and ERISA.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage confidential employee information with professionalism and discretion.
• Comfortable working independently and collaborating with a broader HR team.

This position requires a full-time onsite presence in New York City . xhyhwjd Candidates should be available to work in person and interested in a temporary-to-permanent opportunity.

Employment Type: Temporary-to-Permanent

Compensation: $35–$40 per hour
