Details ~ Emergency Department in a 198-bed Level III trauma center serving the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah ~ The ED has 48 beds with flex space, accommodating a diverse patient population including ESRD, cirrhosis, COPD, and psychiatric patients ~ Patient ratios are 4:1 in the main ED and 6:1 in Fast Track ~ Common diagnoses and treatments include ESRD, substance abuse disorders, psychological disorders, COPD, CHF, abdominal pain, and chest pain ~ Required procedures and skills include trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis management, and moderate sedation ~ Equipment used includes Zoll Defibrillator, Level One Blood Transfuser, QinFlow Blood Warmer, Hospira Plum360, Freestyle and iStat POC, and ultrasound-guided IV ~ EMR is Cerner ~ Day shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM ~ Minimum of two weekends per schedule required ~ No on-call or float requirements ~13-week contract with 36 hours per week Requirements Active NM or Compact RN license required Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC — all must be from the American Heart Association (AHA) Experience with trauma, stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and moderate sedation required Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher required Additional Information The facility is a Level III trauma center; due to its regional location, Level I, II, and III trauma cases are flown in The ED operates on a team nursing and pod system model A social worker and a unit educator are assigned to the department The facility has received notable recognitions including a Reputation 800 Award in Healthcare and is ranked among the Top 20 Most Beautiful Hospitals in the U.S. Farmington, NM is located in the San Juan River Valley, offering access to three rivers, four golf courses, five lakes, six National Parks, hiking, kayaking, and historical sightseeing Farmington is approximately 1 hour from Durango, CO and 3 hours from Albuquerque, NM American Traveler Job ID #P-724255.
