Overview:
The Substitute Teacher is responsible for delivering lesson plans and ensuring a high-quality learning environment in the absence of a certified teacher. This role upholds the program's academic standards while fostering a safe and nurturing atmosphere for students.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Implement the curriculum aligned with Missouri Learning Standards as provided by the Summer Program.
• Maintain an engaging and structured classroom environment that supports student learning.
• Follow the lesson plans left by the assigned teacher, ensuring continuity in instruction and activities.
• Report significant behavioral or academic concerns to the Site Director for appropriate intervention.
• Conduct assigned classes at the designated times and locations.
• Enforce program rules and expectations consistently.
• Monitor students’ academic progress and communicate any concerns to the Site Director.
• Demonstrate professionalism in all interactions with students, staff, parents, and visitors.
• Attend all required teacher training sessions.
• Adhere to all Summer Program policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Valid Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education substitute teaching certification.
• Strong ability to engage with children, parents, and staff effectively.
• Experience in planning and leading activities that align with program objectives.
• Successful completion of a background screening.

This role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a commitment to maintaining an enriching academic experience for students throughout the summer program.
