Full‑Time Patient Transporter Atlantic Health Newton Medical Center seeks a Full‑Time Patient Transporter. Required hours are 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, including every other weekend. Starting rate: $18.50/hr. Essential Functions / Responsibilities Ascertains patient name, destination, mode of travel, time, and other data, following written or verbal instructions. Guides or escorts incoming patients from the admitting office or reception desk to a designated area. Carriers the patient’s luggage. Assists patient in walking to prevent accidents from falling, or transports a non‑ambulatory patient using a wheelchair. Transports patient, alone or with assistance, in bed, wheeled cart, or wheelchair to designated areas within the facility during patient stay. Delivers messages, mail, medical records, and other items. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications / Requirements HS diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will be obtained within one year of employment. All candidates must be able to read, write, and speak English to provide a safe environment for patients. Ability to work well under time constraints. Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or heat and must stand for long periods, bend, lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. Relevant Experience CPR certification preferred.
