Registered Nurse - Emergency Department

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

6:45 PM - 7:15 AM, every other weekend commitment required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive care in a fast-paced Emergency Department (ED). The ideal candidate will be instrumental in caring for a diverse patient population and will have a strong commitment to teamwork, professional development, and patient experience. The ED typically has a patient ratio of 4:1, extending up to 7:1 for behavioral holds.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care.
• Monitor and assess patients, providing appropriate interventions based on clinical needs.
• Utilize advanced equipment and technology for patient care and documentation.
• Ensure effective communication with patients and their families throughout the care process.
• Participate in departmental teamwork and contribute to a positive work environment.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required before starting.
• ENPC certification within 90 days of hire.
• Previous experience in a Level 2 trauma center or comprehensive stroke center preferred.
• Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department.
