Director, Policy/Government Relations

Director-level policy role focused on advancing Merck's cardiovascular and metabolic disease pipelines through global public policy strategy development and implementation. The position collaborates across cross-functional teams to identify policy priorities, develop strategic solutions, and advocate for company interests.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute global policy strategy for cardiometabolic and metabolic-dysfunction-associated fatty liver disease pipelines
- Identify, analyze, and respond to emerging public policy issues affecting company pipelines
- Lead proactive policy solution development in support of strategic business priorities
- Coordinate with global franchise teams, regional policy teams, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Manage budget and consultant relationships to support policy objectives
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's or graduate degree in healthcare policy strongly preferred
- Minimum 10 years of public policy experience with non-communicable disease expertise
- At least 5 years of global policy space experience preferred
- Expert knowledge of government and non-governmental organizations in global policy
- Deep understanding of global healthcare policy processes and stakeholder roles
- Demonstrated ability to work in matrix organizations and manage budgets and consultants
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with collaborative leadership approach
Compensation: $190,800 - $300,300 base
