Job Title: CT Technologist

Experience: Two (2) years of CT scanning experience required
License: Must hold a valid state license
Certifications: Required - ARRT (CT), BLS

- Proficient with imaging equipment


Description:
The CT Technologist utilizes imaging, computer, and other equipment as appropriate to produce and retain high-quality diagnostic images.
These images must meet or exceed department, organizational, and industry standards.
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of human anatomy and physiology as well as image quality.
Applying professional knowledge, prepares patients for the procedure and educates them.
Responds to patient questions or concerns effectively.
Ensures an age-appropriate approach to communication, safety needs, patient education, and principles of physical and functional growth and development.
Demonstrates an understanding of patient positioning, imaging techniques, radiation safety, imaging equipment, infection control, and quality control techniques.
Oversees and trains students providing patient care and treatment as part of their training.
Verifies the ordered exam and appropriateness utilizing assessment data and principles of growth and development.
Administers contrast as directed.
Positions the patient and equipment to achieve optimal images.
Works with physicians to evaluate the images and determine whether additional images are needed.
Applies radiation safety techniques and devices to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
Prepares patients for the procedure and ensures effective communication to address their needs.
Demonstrates accountability for results and strives for continual improvement in care and service.
Respects every individual and upholds standards for quality and caring in all interactions.
