The Team Leader for Crop Care supervises and coordinates all crop maintenance activities within assigned greenhouse sections, leading teams of workers in daily cultivation tasks and ensuring work quality and productivity standards are met. This is a key supervisory position that offers advancement opportunities for dedicated local workers.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Direct supervision of crop care teams (5-15 workers)
• Coordination of plant training activities (lowering/winding plants)
• Coordination of harvesting operations
• Coordination of leaf removal work
• Coordination of plant maintenance operations
• Daily task assignment to team members
• Quality control of work execution
• Work pace monitoring and productivity management
• Training of new team members
• Communication with Labor Manager on progress and issues
• Troubleshooting operational problems
• Ensuring safety protocols are followed
• Motivation and guidance of team members
• Documentation of daily production activities

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-2 years experience in greenhouse or agricultural operations
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
• Proven ability to lead or supervise others
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Physical stamina for greenhouse work
• Reliable transportation to Early Branch location
• Ability to demonstrate tasks and train others

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience leading teams in agricultural settings
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• Basic computer skills
• First aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Knowledge of tomato plant care
