Non-Credit Instructor-Sterile Processing Technician

The Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning (WDLL) Department of Middlesex College invites applications for part-time, non-credit instructors to teach the following course: Sterile Processing Technician Important Please note that a non-credit instructor is not an adjunct position. Successful candidates teach courses in the WDLL Department. Primary Responsibilities The ability to teach a program of 140 hours of classroom training and 400 hours of clinical rotations at a sponsoring facility. Provides training and development in Sterile Processing techniques and procedures. Ensures compliance with applicable health, life safety, infection control, and environmental regulation. Monitors student performance and provides guidance as necessary. Maintains classroom/clinical site order and discipline. Ensures compliance with host facilities requirements. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent Three years of Sterile processing experience Possess and maintain: Certified Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) through Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER) Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS) Previous experience teaching the subject matter to adult learners Ability to teach at locations in Middlesex and neighboring counties Preferred Qualifications Associate Degree Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) Supplemental Information Must be able to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time Additional information: This is a daytime position.
