About the Position

First-time travelers are accepted. The patient population includes adults to geriatrics. The telemetry unit handles diagnoses such as CHF, MI, chest pain (pre- and post-cath), dysrhythmias (pre- and post-device implants), hypo-/hypertension, pleural effusion, sepsis, and PE/DVT/vascular issues. The nurse-patient ratio is 1:4-5 for a unit with 36 rooms and an average daily census of 35. Epic charting system experience is required. Scrub color is navy blue. Maximum time off (RTO) is limited to 7 days. Blackout dates for time off include Spring Break. Floating is required within the facility as necessary. No call requirements apply. Holiday work is expected during assignment periods when major holidays fall within the schedule. Compliance with onboarding processes is mandatory to start on time. A clinical screen will be conducted to determine clinical fit for candidates. All candidates must demonstrate the ability to manage specific cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration. Essential skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, and telemetry monitoring both on the unit and remotely. Candidates should also be knowledgeable in isolation precautions and intravenous insulin protocols, among other essential nursing skills.
