General Maintenance Technician: Full-Time

Our Maintenance team serves to ensure the functionality, safety, and upkeep of Rescue Mission facilities on our main campus and affiliates in Roanoke, VA.

Reports to: Facilities Administrator Full-Time (non-exempt/hourly) Monday - Friday Possess a sincere love of Christ and maintain a Christian walk that is evident of that love. Strong work ethic and commitment to work as scheduled to include holidays and weekends as assigned. Demonstrated attention to detail/strong organizational skills to assist with multiple daily assignments and special projects. Valid driver’s license: ability to drive box truck and van. Proficiency in plumbing, general carpentry, HVAC, and painting. Working knowledge of computers and using Microsoft Word & Excel; Google Products. Ability to analyze issues, identify solutions, and implement effective repairs or maintenance procedures. Basic understanding of machinery, tools, and equipment relevant to maintenance tasks, along with the ability to quickly learn new systems.

Maintenance Techs serve to maintain all aspects of the mechanical and physical facility, including equipment, vehicles, and landscaping. Perform preventive maintenance, assist with seasonal tasks and special projects. Occasional computer use; computer screen exposure. indoor/outdoor exposure.
