Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Ortho/Tele

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | Onsite | Every other weekend or 2 weekend shifts per schedule | Holiday rotation participation expected

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 22-bed Orthopedic/Telemetry unit with a focus on joint replacements, fractures, and related orthopedic diagnoses
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5–6, with CNA support available on each shift
• Monitor telemetry as needed; RNs are not required to independently read rhythm strips
• Collaborate with a Charge Nurse available 24/7 and interdisciplinary team members including CNAs and respiratory therapy
• Utilize respiratory equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow) on an as-needed basis
• Float to other units as needed (e.g., comparable med-surg/ortho floors within the facility)

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in West Virginia or a compact state
• BLS certification (required)
• Strong orthopedic nursing experience, including Total Joint Replacement experience (fracture experience alone does not meet this requirement)
• COVID-19 vaccination required (2-dose Moderna or Pfizer series, or single-dose J&J); medical or religious exemption requests must be submitted promptly for review
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience in an orthopedic or medical-surgical setting
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring in a med-surg environment
• Experience working in high-acuity units with CNA team support
