(Current UI employees are not eligible for incentive) The UI Heart and Vascular Center is seeking a full time (100%) Imaging Technologist to assist providers with patient preparation to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to treat heart rhythm disorders in the electrophysiology lab. Responsible for safe and effective operation of radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment as well as specialized imaging and technical equipment used for procedures. Work Schedule:

- 4 - 10 hour Day shifts with Rotating day off (Monday - Friday)
- Rotating late stay shifts
- No nights, weekends, or holidays
- Operates fluoroscopic imaging equipment
- Operate equipment used for hemodynamic monitoring and invasive procedural needs
- Prepares and operates cardiac support devices under the supervision and order of the provider
- Monitor, scrub, or circulate as required
- Ensure adequate levels of all supplies are available in the procedural labs - stock as needed
- Daily lab/room checks as designated by department
- Performs general maintenance/cleaning and simple troubleshooting of all radiologic equipment, and escalates repair of equipment when needed
- Prepares for sterile procedures by performing sterile table set-up following sterile technique
- Performs circulating duties including patient care, basic and advanced cardiovascular life support, hemodynamic monitoring, and preparation of the procedure site
- Prepare and administer contrast material to patients under provider's supervision as required
- Ensure safety precautions are being used to minimize or eliminate risks to patients, personnel, and equipment
- Provides instruction/orientation to trainees, students, and other hospital personnel on equipment operation, safety precautions, and procedures
- Assist Leadership and procurement with inventory and supply needs
- Maintains current knowledge of developments in radiologic technology and related subjects by attending meetings, continuing education programs, participation in professional organizations, and/or reading journals and publications.
- Follow general policies and procedures in accordance with regulations of UI Health Care, Department of Internal Medicine, and UI Heart and Vascular Center
- Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and the public
- Establish rapport with patients and provide information regarding exams being performed and what is required of them
- Demonstrates acceptance of responsibilities; pride in work performed; and flexibility in acceptance of assignments while consistently maintaining professional behavior and appearance
- Staying up-to-date with advancements and best practices in electrophysiology
- Must be available for rotating late stay coverage
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Successful completion of two-year or other approved program by Joint Commission Committee in Radiologic Technology Education is required.
- Proven capacity to function with a high degree of autonomy while actively collaborating within a multidisciplinary team.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills required.
- Certification in diagnostic procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required prior to start date.
- Permit to practice by the state of Iowa for all technologists operating ionizing radiation emitting equipment required by start date
- Current BLS and ACLS certification(s) required by start date.
- Previous EPIC experience.
- Previous imaging technologist experience in adult cardiac catheterization/Electrophysiology; OR completion of cardiovascular clinical internship within the last 12 mos.
- Certification in RCES.
- Knowledge of UI Health Care policies, procedures and regulations.
