Project Accountant

Job ID# : 40692 Project Accountant - Construction Join a growing, nationally active contractor where project accounting plays a central role in successful project delivery. This Houston-based Project Accountant will partner with project managers, operations and finance leadership to maintain accurate billing, job costs and financial reporting across multiple construction projects. What You’ll Do Establish new projects, contracts, schedules of values and change orders in the accounting system Complete accurate and timely monthly progress billings Monitor project costs, budgets, billing and WIP information Review and process subcontractor and vendor invoices and statements Coordinate payment planning and collect required lien waivers Partner with project managers to resolve billing, cost and collection issues Maintain documentation supporting project audits, compliance and reporting Assist with month-end journal entries, reconciliations and supporting schedules Coordinate with accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll Identify opportunities to improve project-accounting processes What We’re Looking For Required: At least two years of project accounting or closely related construction-accounting experience Familiarity with progress billing, job-cost reporting and WIP schedules Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups and formulas Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of ownership Ability to communicate effectively with project managers, field personnel and accounting teams Preferred: Construction, electrical-contracting or specialty-contractor experience Viewpoint Vista, Sage or comparable construction ERP experience Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field Role Details Location: Houston, TX Work arrangement: To be confirmed Employment: Full-time Compensation: $60,000-$75,000, with flexibility based on experience Benefits: Medical, dental, vision and 401(k) Opportunity: Career development with a growing, team-oriented organization If you are ready to take ownership of project-level financial accuracy while partnering closely with operations, we would like to speak with you. #J-18808-Ljbffr Professional Alternatives
