Pay Rate:

The pay rate for this job is $22 - $25 / hour*

What you'll be doing as a CAD Operator:

• Create, revise, and maintain 2D and 3D drawings using CAD software

• Prepare detailed drawings, layouts, schematics, and production prints from sketches, specifications, and engineering data

• Interpret and work from blueprints, technical drawings, engineering documentation, and design specifications

• Convert field measurements, sketches, and existing designs into accurate CAD drawings

• Apply dimensions, tolerances, material specifications, annotations, and other required drafting details

• Update and modify existing drawings based on engineering changes, production requirements, or customer requests

• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, proper scaling, and compliance with company and industry standards

• Maintain organized electronic drawing files, revision histories, and document-control records

• Develop bills of materials (BOMs), cut lists, and other production-related documentation as required

• Collaborate with engineers, project managers, production personnel, fabricators, and customers to clarify design requirements and resolve technical issues

• Provide drawing and specification support to manufacturing and fabrication teams

• Implement revisions based on engineering reviews, production feedback, and customer comments

• Adhere to established drafting procedures, quality standards, and document-control practices

• Manage multiple projects and drawing revisions simultaneously while meeting project deadlines

• Perform additional drafting, design, documentation, and administrative duties as assigned

Job requirements:

• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for employment with PeopleReady

• Minimum experience in CAD drafting or design, preferably within manufacturing, fabrication, engineering, architectural, or construction environments

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or other CAD software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, Revit , or similar design applications

• Ability to create, modify, and maintain both 2D drawings and 3D models as required

• Strong ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, technical drawings, and engineering specifications

• Solid understanding of drafting principles, including dimensions, tolerances, scales, and industry drafting standards

• Strong mathematical and measurement skills, including proficiency with fractions, decimals, and basic geometry

• Ability to accurately translate sketches, field measurements, and engineering specifications into detailed technical drawings

• Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn and effectively utilize company-specific software and systems

• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain structured drawing files and documentation

• Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering, production, sales, and project management teams

• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize workload, and meet established deadlines

• Associate degree, technical diploma, or certification in CAD, Drafting, Engineering Technology , or a related field preferred

• Previous experience in the company's industry or a related field is considered a strong advantage
