Business Analyst

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong Power BI expertise to support reporting, analytics, and business intelligence initiatives within a fast-paced financial services environment. This is a hands-on contract opportunity for a professional who can quickly understand business processes and data, perform in-depth analysis, and develop impactful reporting solutions.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, and executive scorecards.

Partner with business stakeholders to gather reporting and analytics requirements.

Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends and deliver actionable insights.

Build and enhance Power BI data models, DAX calculations, Power Query transformations, and visualizations.

Query, validate, and analyze data using SQL and multiple data sources.

Streamline and automate manual reporting processes, including Excel-based reporting.

Document reporting logic, data definitions, and business requirements.

Skills and Requirements

3+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Data Analysis, Financial Analysis, Business Intelligence, or a related field.

Proven experience developing professional Power BI reports and dashboards.

Strong knowledge of Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and data modeling.

Experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work independently and ramp up quickly in a contract environment. Experience within auto finance, vehicle remarketing, leasing, or financial services environments is highly preferred, including exposure to:

End-of-lease and vehicle maturity processes

Vehicle grounding, disposition, and sales performance reporting

Auction, vendor, and channel performance analytics

Collections and maturity receivables reporting

Inventory aging and days-to-sale metrics

Residual value and vehicle valuation analysis

Loss severity and recovery analysis
