Salary: $130,000–$150,000 per year

Overview

Lead social strategy for brands seeking to build cultural relevance, engage audiences, and drive business growth. This role combines audience insights, cultural intelligence, platform expertise, and creative strategy to develop integrated social experiences across established and emerging channels.

Working cross-functionally with creative, media, analytics, influencer, and account teams, the Social Strategy Director will shape strategic recommendations, strengthen client partnerships, contribute to new business development, and help evolve social strategy frameworks and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop social-first strategies grounded in audience behaviour, cultural insights, and platform dynamics.
• Create strategic roadmaps connecting business objectives with content, creators, communities, and commerce.
• Use social listening, audience research, analytics, and cultural trends to identify actionable insights.
• Guide creative teams in developing platform-native ideas and content for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Reddit, and emerging channels.
• Build strategic frameworks, playbooks, methodologies, and thought leadership to strengthen social strategy capabilities.
• Lead client workshops, strategic planning sessions, and executive presentations.
• Contribute to new business pitches with differentiated insights, compelling narratives, and strategic recommendations.
• Collaborate with creative, media, analytics, production, influencer, and partner teams to integrate social across the customer experience.
• Monitor platform developments, creator behaviour, emerging technologies, and cultural shifts to identify new opportunities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8–10+ years of experience in social strategy, digital strategy, integrated planning, or cultural strategy within an agency, consultancy, or brand environment.
• Experience developing integrated social strategies across earned, owned, and paid channels.
• Deep understanding of organic social, paid media integration, creator ecosystems, and community building.
• Expertise in social listening, audience intelligence, and translating data into strategic recommendations.
• Exceptional storytelling, presentation, and communication skills.
