RBVH, Veterinary Cardiology Technician

Cardiology Technician Overview Red Bank Veterinary Hospital (RBVH) is seeking a compassionate and skilled Cardiology Technician to join the cardiology team. You will assist veterinarians with exams and procedures, handle lab work and medications, manage client interactions, and help maintain a clean, organized workspace. The ideal candidate is dependable, organized, familiar with canine and feline care, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Location: Red Bank, NJ Compensation: Credentialed Technicians $27–$32/hr depending on experience; Non-Credentialed Technicians $24–$27/hr depending on experience. The final compensation offer will be based on the qualified candidate’s experience and ability to make an impact in the role. Anticipated Schedule: Full Time — Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 8am–6pm Key Responsibilities Manage and provide for the patient’s needs such as cleanliness, nutrition, appropriate bedding, physical therapy, exercise, comfort and support. Perform required treatments and record observations legibly in medical records. Assist in patient restraint, test setup, nursing care and triage/discharge of patients. Transport patients to and from in-hospital wards to pre- and post-surgical areas. Assist with cleaning surgical equipment, packing/sterilizing instruments, and maintaining surgical suites. Perform basic in-house laboratory tests, complete laboratory forms, file lab reports, and clean the laboratory area. Monitor daily husbandry activities of in-hospital patients. Communicate with doctors and technicians regarding patient status or concerns. Provide aftercare for patients and clients. Follow established hospital policies and procedures when handling client concerns and complaints. Document legibly and maintain accurate medical records in accordance with hospital policy. Performs other job duties as assigned. Cardiology Requirements Assist doctors in appointments (loading rooms, restraining). Assist with bloodwork, echocardiograms, chest taps, and physical exams. Assist during surgery procedures (setting up tables, assisting doctors and technicians, maintaining and sterilizing equipment). Medical record keeping and client communication. Animal restraint and entering patient information into echo cardio machine; entering results into medical records. Fax information to referral veterinarian and restock cardio room. Clean and maintain ECG/echo equipment and the C-arm room; load clients into rooms for appointments. Return animals to their owners when appointments are completed and scan X-rays. Clean and maintain surgical equipment. Put on and take off event and halter monitors. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Completion of an Approved Veterinary Assistant program with AVA certification. Two years of experience working as a nursing team member in a veterinary hospital is required. Fluent English skills (speaking & reading) required; fluency in multiple languages is a plus. Preferred Qualifications: 6 months of veterinary experience.
