Maintenance Mechanic LeadWe're seeking a hands-on Maintenance Mechanic Lead to drive equipment reliability and support day-to-day facility operations. This role combines advanced troubleshooting across electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems with team leadership responsibilities, including training mechanics and promoting a proactive maintenance culture. You'll help manage CMMS accuracy, support inventory and parts organization, and step in to resolve issues—including occasional off-hours support. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, clear communication, and the ability to lead effectively with minimal supervision while continuously improving maintenance performance.Essential Functions and Job Duties:Maintain an organized, clean work areaMaintenance of equipment and buildingTraining the other mechanics in troubleshooting, motor repair and pneumatic troubleshooting will be a major focus of the Maintenance LeadAssist in keeping CMMS software in orderMay need to take phone calls and help troubleshoot during off hoursAssist in inventory and parts organizationFamiliarity with electrical systems from 12VDC – 480VACKnowledge of pneumatic and vacuum systemsKnows all applicable Sanitation and Safety SOP'sKnows general company policies and handbook policiesMaintain a positive attitude and promote proactive maintenance workMaintains excellent communication and relationships with other employees to foster team effortSeeks out new ways to improve productivityForklift CertifiedAdditional duties may be assigned and/or requiredPersonal Qualifications:A Lead Maintenance Mechanic should be able to perform many common industrial maintenance tasks and help other mechanics learn the same skillsMust be able to maintain productivity with limited supervisionMust be willing to make maintenance decisions when other leaders are not presentTraining the other mechanics in troubleshooting, motor repair and pneumatic troubleshooting will be a major focus of the Maintenance LeadStrong electrical and pneumatic troubleshooting and communication skills are requiredStrong electrical meter knowledge including amp clamp, true RMS meter and meggerMust be able to work with limited supervision and have a willingness and desire to learn new equipmentAbility to work as part of a team and maintain a positive attitudeAbility to adhere to schedule work hoursMaintain proper hygieneMust be able to understand and follow verbal and written directions in EnglishMinimum Qualifications:1-3 years of experience as a Maintenance Lead or similar role.Strong electrical meter knowledge, including amp clamp, true RMS meter and meggerKnowledge and competency of CMMS softwareEducation Requirements:Competent in CMMS, Excel and Microsoft WordPLC programming, SolidWorks/AutoCAD training or equivalent experience preferredTIG/MIG welding and lathe/mill experience is preferredHigh School Graduate or GED EquivalentPhysical Requirements:Must be able to squat and bend for extended periods of timeTwisting and reaching are requiredPushing and pulling heavy loadsAbility to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 55 pounds regularlyAbility to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standardsAbility to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standardsPetIQ provides convenient and affordable pet health and wellness products and veterinary services to pets and their families through retail and ecommerce channels across the country.
