BSG is currently hiring a full‑time, Flex, Vehicle Patrol Security Officer in Marin County. Officers will perform extensive patrols by vehicle and foot in a professional manner for our commercial and residential properties, operating both independently and as part of a team. They conduct multiple, randomly timed stops during each patrol period to perform thorough checks of all assigned properties. Schedule This is a Flex, full‑time position (30 hours per week minimum). Candidates must be available for all shifts—Morning, Swing, or Grave—with a minimum of 16 hours’ notice, as needed. Weekend availability is required. Shifts 7‑day availability to work Morning, Swing, or Grave shifts, with a minimum of 16 hours’ notice. Candidates must also be able to work up to 10‑hour shifts any day of the week. Must possess a current California Guard Card License. A valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record for 3 years is required for Vehicle Patrol. Reliable transportation is necessary. Proficient in basic computer and smartphone usage. Must be able to speak, read, and write in English to create accurate reports; additional language skills are a plus. Strong listening skills, patience, and compassion, especially when interacting with community members experiencing emotional or psychological challenges. Ability to remain calm in crisis situations, think critically, de‑escalate conflicts, and communicate effectively. Ability to prioritize with strong time‑management skills. Maintain a positive, professional demeanor in adherence to all laws, regulations, company policies, and confidentiality standards. Ensure compliance with both company and client policies and procedures while being open to performance improvement. Possess a clear understanding of emergency response procedures and protocols. At least one year of experience in security, mobile patrol, or event staff roles. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Successfully pass a background check and drug screening. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations. Desire to pursue a police academy, law enforcement, or criminal justice career encouraged. Permit for an exposed firearm is a plus. Perform other related duties, as assigned. Vehicle Patrol Officer‑Specific Duties Respond to triggered alarms, distress calls, or calls for service. Issue, log, and track parking violations; execute towing policies. Generate awareness among communities. Search properties for unwanted trespassers or suspicious persons. Report emergency incidents to first responder agencies. Investigate any potential safety issues or vandalism. Maintain a good working relationship with local law enforcement and first responder agencies while reporting emergency incidents. Address any additional client concerns. Physical Requirements Stand, Walk, and Sit for Extended Periods : Ability to stand or walk for long periods, often for several hours at a time, including traversing uneven outdoor areas. Climb Stairs : Regularly climb stairs and navigate multi‑level buildings. Lift and Carry : Ability to lift up to 50 pounds to move or secure equipment. Physical Endurance : Ability to withstand various weather conditions during outdoor patrols. Manual Dexterity : Ability to handle and operate security equipment, such as radios, keys, and locks. Run or Move Quickly : Ability to sprint short distances if needed to respond to emergencies. Physical Stamina : Capable of working long hours while remaining alert and focused. Kneeling and Bending : Ability to kneel, crouch, and bend to check low‑level areas or assist in emergencies. Vision and Hearing : Strong vision and hearing to observe surroundings, monitor security systems, and detect alarms or sounds of distress. Roles and Responsibilities Patrol and Surveillance : Perform regular patrols of assigned areas, including multi‑level buildings and outdoor spaces, while standing or walking for extended periods. Incident Response : Respond swiftly to emergencies or incidents, including sprinting short distances if necessary. Equipment Handling : Lift and carry equipment or materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Situational Awareness : Utilize strong vision and hearing to monitor surroundings. Conflict Resolution : De‑escalate stressful or potentially volatile situations with professionalism and effective communication skills.
