First year Roto‑Rooter drain service technicians can expect top-pay, earning $55,000, on average. Pay increases quickly with each year of experience. Roto‑Rooter provides an initial 12weeks of paidsewer and drainservicetraining,plus continuing training is available if you want to learn the plumbing trade and pursue a journeyman plumber’s license. Responsibilities Roto-Rooter drain service technicians use their skills to provide solutions to sewer and drain problems. A service call begins with diagnosing problems then providing cost estimates to close the sale. Unclog and clean sewers and drains for the customer using Roto-Rooter equipment and tools. Document estimates and invoices, both in writing and on a provided smartphone. Collect payment and move on to the next service call. Requirements A valid driver’s license Effective communication skills. A mechanical aptitude is desirable, but prior experience is not necessary.
