A Brief Overview This is a great per diem opportunity for a pediatric Operating Room Nurse! Located in the Specialty Care & Surgery Center, Bucks County | Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, this position requires a minimum of 24 hours within a 6‑week schedule. Requirements Required pediatric OR RN scrubbing and circulating experience (at least 2 years). PALS certification is required. Technical Diploma Nursing – required. Bachelor's Degree Nursing – preferred. At least two (2) years related nursing experience – required. Pediatric experience – preferred. Responsibilities Perform the duties and responsibilities of a pediatric perioperative nurse related to the pre‑operative, intra‑operative or post‑operative phase of care including age‑appropriate physical assessment, effective case management, airway protection, pain management and teaching. Practice in a professional manner that adheres to the Nurse Practice Act of the state in which the ASF is located. Actively participate in the daily operations of the ASF, chairing and/or participating in unit/departmental shared governance. Maintain competency in all aspects of care, including point‑of‑care testing, health‑care informatics, and emerging health‑care technology. Commit to lifelong learning and consider participation in the Professional Advancement Program (PEAK). Serve as a role model for other staff and as a preceptor for new employees. Skills & Abilities Computer competency (basic use of mouse, keyboard, printer, USB ports, Microsoft Office, and shared network file space). Use of electronic health records, clinical decision support tools, and quality‑improvement data collection. Information literacy and management skills, including efficient retrieval and critical evaluation of electronic resources. Knowledge of policies and procedures related to confidentiality, security, and privacy regulations concerning clinical information systems. Licenses & Certifications Registered Nurse (Pennsylvania) – Pennsylvania State Licensing Board – upon hire – required. Registered Nurse (New Jersey) – New Jersey State Licensing Board – upon hire – required. Basic Life Support (BLS) – upon hire – preferred. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – upon hire – preferred. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – upon hire – preferred.
