Training Specialist - Intermediate

Job Summary As an IT Learning Specialist Intermediate on our Learning Design and Delivery (LDD) team within Health Information Technology and Services (HITS), you will partner with customers, technical team members, subject matter experts, and learners across Michigan Medicine through end user support, online course development and/or instructor‑led training activities. Responsibilities* Facilitate engaging training sessions (including full day sessions), virtually and/or in person, to promote efficient system use and effective integration of technology into end‑user workflows. Support training and operations through learning administration and customer support activities, such as LMS management, attendance tracking, pre/post training communications, troubleshooting, quality assurance, and customer service requests. Evaluate training effectiveness and continuously improve and update content based on learner feedback, system updates, and changing business or technical requirements. Partner with SMEs, technical teams, and team members to analyze training needs and create practical, high‑impact learning experiences. Design, develop, and maintain learning solutions across digital (eLearning, video, animation) and/or instructor led (in person or virtual) formats, using Subject Matter Expert (SME) input, curated vendor content, and existing materials. Support implementation of new training modules, application implementations, upgrades, and workflow transitions, providing education and 1:1 or small‑group support as needed. Maintain advanced working knowledge of assigned applications, services, technologies, and productivity tools, and obtain or maintain required technical certifications (e.g., Epic, Microsoft 365, ServiceNow). Train, credential, and support other team members in assigned applications and learning approaches. Required Qualifications* A Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 2 - 5 years of professional experience in a learning related role Desired Qualifications* Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Training, Information Technology or Clinical Advanced degree in Instructional Design, Learning Design & Technology, or related discipline Skilled in adult learning and related learning theories and a desire to grow within the field Demonstrated experience in delivery of training (preferably adult learners focused on IT or software training) Experience designing, developing and updating training content and/or eLearning modules using tools such as Articulate, Rise, Camtasia, or comparable platforms A strong team player with the ability to engage with all levels of the organization Adaptable to technology and technology changes Experience in a healthcare related field Prior experience with Epic Modes of Work Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
