Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30)

Location: Orange and Irvine, CA

Unit: Emergency Department Float Pool

Description

We are seeking an experienced nurse for our Emergency Department Float Pool. This is a dynamic role that will require flexibility to float between our Orange and Irvine campuses.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

• Previous Charge Experience: 1 year preferred
• Patient Ratio Experience: Experience managing a patient ratio of 4:1
• Charting System: Must have experience with Epic
• Travel Experience: Required
• Certifications:
  • ACLS
  • BLS
  • CPI
  • PALS

Skills Required

• Abdominal pain management
• Acute psychosis intervention
• Arterial line management
• Assistance in intubation
• Asthma management
• BiPAP/CPAP management
• Blood product administration
• Burn management
• Care of ventilated patients
• Central line care/management
• Chest tube insertion/management
• Interpretation of arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Management of dysrhythmias
• Triage and urgent interventions
• Patient management with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Handling of psychiatric emergencies and holds
• Emergency response for conditions like drug overdose and trauma

Facility & Patient Care Details

• Patient Age Groups: Neonates, Infants, Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Daily Census: Approximately 125 patients
• Number of Visits Per Day: Approximately 190
• Number of Beds: 72

• Weekend Coverage: Yes
• Orientation Hours: 36 hours

Compliance & Reporting

• No Nursys or background hits accepted.
• Max 7 days of RTO (Request Time Off) per 13-week contract is preferred.
• Valid California State License required at the time of application.
• All required certifications must be in hand upon application.
• CPI Blue Card from the Crisis Prevention Institute is mandatory.
• Two supervisor references required at the time of application.
