Locum MD (Medical Doctor), DO (Osteopathic Doctor) Critical Care

As a Locum Critical Care Physician, you will play a pivotal role in providing top-notch medical care to critically ill patients. You will collaborate with a team of healthcare providers to ensure high standards of patient care and assist in managing complex clinical cases. Your expertise will significantly contribute to the overall effectiveness of our medical team and the well-being of our patients. 

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care to patients in the ICU
• Conduct assessments, examinations, and diagnostics
• Develop and implement treatment plans for critically ill patients
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary
• Participate in medical rounds and team meetings
• Educate patients and families about health conditions and treatments
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Board certification in Critical Care or related specialty
• 1-3 years of clinical experience in a critical care setting
• Strong diagnostic and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Commitment to providing compassionate patient care
• Current medical licensure in the state of Kentucky

Schedule: 7a-7p or 7p-7a

Setting: Closed ICU units, 50 beds total

Daily Admissions Volume: ~12-15 patients

Procedures Required: Intubation, chest tube, bronchoscopy, etc

Support Staff: RNs, Intensivists

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified 

DEA, ACLS, and BLS required
