Salary Pay Range and Other Compensation: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Employment Type: Full-Time | Contract
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Schedule: Monday - Friday, standard business hours (may vary based on business needs)

About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Health Information Management Specialist I to support medical record processing and billing operations. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate documentation, compliance, and timely claim processing within a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Obtain and review medical records and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy
• Secure missing or incomplete data through EMR systems, technology tools, and direct outreach
• Index, label, and organize patient documentation in electronic and paper records
• Validate patient information and ensure proper documentation prior to claim submission
• Perform pre-scan validation to support timely processing and revenue cycle accuracy
• Support administrative operations including scanning, filing, faxing, mailing, and document management
• Maintain strict HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of patient information
• Meet daily, weekly, and monthly productivity and quality metrics
• Assist with general office operations, including supply management and correspondence
• Collaborate with internal teams to improve documentation and billing workflows

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 0-1+ years of experience in medical records, HIM, or billing preferred
• Familiarity with EMR systems and medical documentation processes preferred
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, and ICD-10 coding preferred
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
