Position: Procedure Center RN

Start Date: Must be able to start September 14

Shift: Day 4x10-Hour (06:00 AM - 4:30 PM)

Job Description

The Procedure Center RN will provide quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, primarily focusing on pediatric patients. Adult patients may be cared for on rare occasions. Experience in general surgery is essential, alongside the ability to work efficiently within an interdisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to inpatient and outpatient pediatric patients.
• Administer treatments and medications as prescribed.
• Assist in various minor surgical cases including, but not limited to, ENT, Plastics, General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Urology, Dentistry, and Oncology.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using the SurgiNet (Cerner) electronic medical record system.
• Participate in patient education and support throughout the surgical process.
• Be on call for five weekdays and two weekend shifts per six-week schedule.
• Potentially train in endoscopy as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an acute or outpatient setting, with a focus on the specialties listed.
• Certifications: Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications required.
• Skills: Proficient in the administration of blood products and various surgical procedures.
• COVID-19 Vaccine: Required with medical or religious exemptions allowed.
• Local Candidates: Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible.

Unit Details

The Procedure Center serves pediatric patients aged from 1 day to 24 years, with a daily census of approximately 35-40 patients. The center is equipped to handle multiple minor surgical procedures and may require the RN to float as necessary.
