Qualifications Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) plus endorsement appropriate to assignment 2 years of previous experience teaching and/or coursework in an assignment within the last 3 years Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of STEM concepts and instructional best practices Knowledge and Experience with MS Office Suite, Google Docs, and PowerSchool (experience is a plus) Science or Social Studies Endorsement preferred Responsibilities Implement the district's curricula and instructional practices that align with the Board of Education standards Engage in continuous professional development designed to improve instruction Follow the policies and procedures adopted by the Board of Education and the Illinois School Code Actively participate in the implementation of the district's mission and strategic plan and the school's site plan Create an effective and attractive learning environment for students Communicate regularly with parents and work cooperatively with parents for the best interests of the student Teach reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, art, health, physical education, and music to students in a classroom, utilizing the course of study adopted by the Board of Education and other appropriate learning activities Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, and provide both individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student Translate lesson plans into learning experiences to best utilize the available time for instruction Maintain an effective learning atmosphere that promotes standards and behavior appropriate to the students' grade level Regularly evaluate pupils' academic and social personal growth, keep appropriate records, and prepare progress reports Identify student needs and work with other employees to help solve student health, attitude, and learning problems Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities and self-selected professional growth activities Select and requisition books and instructional aides while maintaining required inventory records Supervise students in and out of classroom activities during the assigned workday Administer group-standardized tests in accordance with the district testing program Participate in curriculum development programs, staff committees, and sponsorship of student activities as required Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities Perform other tasks and projects as assigned by the School Principal #J-18808-Ljbffr Dist102
