Echo Tech / Cardiac Sonographer

About the Job MedStar Health is looking for an Echocardiograph Technologist to join our team at MedStar Montgomery Medical Center. The ideal candidate will be an American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) registered sonographer with knowledge of HIPAA policies on confidentiality. Primary Duties Clinical: Operate diagnostic equipment, perform procedures, position patients, explain process, scan patients, produce high quality echocardiograms, ensure safety, monitor patients, assess images, interact with physicians, prepare echo report, enter data in Xelera. Environmental: Maintain a clean, safe, prepared work environment; prepare room, clean and sterilize equipment, restock supplies, check drug supplies. Development: Stay current with knowledge, certification, and licensure; identify learning needs, attend continuing education and hospital training, complete mandatory requirements within allotted time. Organizational knowledge: Work effectively within and between departments, participate in inter-departmental teams and committees, communicate unit knowledge, demonstrate constructive approach in interactions. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Completion of an Echocardiography program. 1-2 years’ experience preferably in an inpatient setting. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography registration required through ARDMS within 180 days. CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation) Category C Certification.
