EAP On-site Clinician - Part-time (20 hours/week) (Kansas City, Missouri)

Job Summary As an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Clinician at Acentra Health, the licensed clinician will provide a full range of EAP services for employees, managers, and the employer organization of a large government agency. Work schedule: 20 hours per week. Travel: Willingness to occasionally travel for site visits across Missouri; hours and location may change based on client needs. Responsibilities Consistently provide exceptional and proactive services as a licensed clinician, ensuring smooth integration with Acentra Health operations and accounts. Provide direct counseling, critical‑incident response services, training or psycho‑educational presentations, and outreach services to increase awareness of EAP services. Make referrals to treatment services where appropriate, ensuring a satisfactory client experience transitioning from EAP to treatment services. Refer to community resources to support clients’ well‑being and mental health. Comply with all clinical and professional protocols, processes and Acentra Health policies. Understand the scope of EAP services and, when needed, communicate that scope to external parties, including clients, managers and other support staff. Consult with Acentra Health supervisors concerning clinical case staffing and high‑risk cases. Maintain and manage a caseload of direct‑service counseling clients, keeping case records in accordance with Acentra Health policies and practices. Create and maintain productive and positive working relationships with local points of contact. Demonstrate excellent teamwork, communication and collaboration with the account manager and other Acentra Health staff. Work in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, always displaying professionalism. Use a consultative approach to establish effective relationships with clients and proactively collaborate on opportunities for product enhancement and optimisation services to meet the client’s specific needs. Exhibit excellent interpersonal and problem‑solving skills to retain and service clients and the organisation. Maintain security of areas, materials and private information, including physical and virtual storage and filing. Maintain a professional demeanour with customers and co‑workers to represent Acentra Health’s values and standards. Perform daily duties and related projects in the area of expertise with minimal supervision. Complete additional related projects, tasks or duties as assigned by the position’s manager. Read, understand and adhere to all corporate policies, including those related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules. Note: The above responsibilities are not exhaustive and may be expanded to other duties deemed necessary. The role is contingent upon being awarded a federal contract. Start dates and final offers are contingent on the contract award and final contract start dates. Required Qualifications Must hold an active, unrestricted, independent clinical licence in the behavioural health field issued by the Missouri licensing board, with acceptable licences including: LCSW – Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LPC – Licensed Professional Counselor, LMFT – Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Psychologist (PhD). The licence must be active and in good standing, verifiable via the Missouri licence lookup tool: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology or a related field. Five or more years’ professional experience in the EAP, mental health, substance abuse or behavioural health field. Critical Incident Response certificate. Ability to successfully complete a federal background investigation required by federal contracting, including verification of financial obligations, fingerprint‑based screening, multi‑year investigative review, drug and alcohol testing and eligibility to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance, as applicable. Preferred Qualifications International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF) Certification. Certified Employee Assistance Professional (CEAP). Working knowledge of DOT Order 3910.1 series. Cultural competency in working with federal government clients. Experience working in substance use. Experience facilitating training with managers, leaders and employees. Experience working with law enforcement, the military or veteran populations. Experience facilitating critical incident responses.
