Medical Administrative Assistant Level II

We're seeking an experienced Medical Administrative Assistant Level II to support a busy medical office. This role requires strong administrative and communication skills, knowledge of medical terminology, insurance and coding, and fluency in both Spanish and English. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Schedule and coordinate patient appointments, follow-ups, and procedures.
• Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, referrals, and authorizations.
• Register patients and maintain accurate demographic and medical information.
• Manage electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) and maintain patient documentation.
• Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries, and coordinate communication with providers.
• Process referrals, medical records, forms, and other healthcare documentation.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and protect confidential patient information.
• Coordinate with physicians, nurses, insurance companies, pharmacies, and outside facilities.
• Handle patient check-in/check-out and collect copayments when applicable.
• Prioritize multiple administrative tasks in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Requirements:

• Must have 4 years of experience in medical office administration
• Bilingual Spanish
• BLS Preferred but not required
• Strong EMR and communication skills
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• General Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 & CPT coding
• Keyboard speed of 45WPM
• Experience with multi-line phone systems
• Ability to multitask and remain calm in a high-volume setting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
