We're looking for candidates with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service while driving strong sales. Key qualities include excellent people and sales skills, attention to detail in keeping merchandise organized, ensuring the floor is always well-stocked, and providing seamless checkout experiences at the register. As the position indicates, the role is temporary and is for our busy holiday season – October through January.Responsibilities:Greet and assist customers promptly: Approach and acknowledge customers immediately, providing assistance and handling multiple customers efficiently.Understand and meet customer needs: Assess customer needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing them to merchandise, and offering recommendations. Engage in suggestive selling while staying informed on product availability.Promote store events and promotions: Inform customers about current store events, promotions, and special activities to enhance their shopping experience and drive sales.Resolve customer concerns: Address customer issues and use product knowledge to offer alternative solutions, aiming to turn returns into exchanges when possible.Communicate needs to management: Regularly inform management about merchandise restocking, service requirements, and any customer feedback in a timely manner.Support team and company goals: Collaborate with the team to achieve overall store and company objectives, contributing to a positive and productive work environment.Qualifications:At least 16 years oldAvailable to work a flexible scheduleComfortable with or willing to learn technology (such as computers, cash registers, hand-held and mobile devices)Good communicator with the ability to engage with customersAble to handle customer interactions and potential issues/concerns courteously and professionallyUse basic information-gathering skills to solve problemsAbility to learn procedural knowledge acquired through on-the-job trainingEssential Job Functions:Frequently operates cash register, computer, hand-held, phone, walkie, and mobile devicesFrequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and places/removes merchandise up to a height of 5-10 feetFrequently ascend/descend ladders in order to retrieve and put away stockFrequently position self to kneel, bend, twist, and stoop, including in the stock room and on the sales floorFrequently communicate and exchange information with customers on the telephone and face-to-face in the store, as well as with managers and coworkers.
