LHH is seeking a Buyer for a full‑time, Direct Hire with a manufacturing client located in Bowling Green, KY. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset and strong negotiation skills to own sourcing strategy for assigned commodity categories. The individual will be a self‑driven procurement professional who can operate independently, manage supplier relationships, and influence cost, risk, and long‑term value across the business. Location: Bowling Greene, KY Travel: 10% - 20% Compensation: $70,000–$95,000 annually (may be negotiable based on experience) Competitive benefits package Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. What You’ll Do Develop and execute macro‑level sourcing strategies for assigned commodities Identify, evaluate, and manage preferred suppliers across the full lifecycle Lead RFQs and complex commercial negotiations, including pricing and long‑term agreements Consolidate spend to leverage volume and reduce total cost Analyze market trends, cost drivers, and risk factors to guide sourcing decisions Build cost models, benchmark suppliers, and drive annual cost‑reduction initiatives Partner cross‑functionally with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, and Supply Chain Support new product launches through timely sourcing and supplier alignment Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement Maintain sourcing documentation, dashboards, and strategic analyses Ensure compliance with established procurement policies and best practices What We’re Looking For 3+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, or procurement Bachelor’s degree highly preferred (Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related) Demonstrated experience managing commodities and supplier portfolios Strong proficiency with RFQs, cost modeling, and supplier negotiations Ability to work independently and manage priorities with minimal oversight Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office; sourcing tools a plus Strong analytical, communication, and relationship‑building skills Nice to Have APICS, ISM, or other supply chain certifications Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled The Company will consider qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and/or security clearance requirements, including, as applicable: The California Fair Chance Act Los Angeles City Fair Chance Ordinance Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance #J-18808-Ljbffr
