Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide comprehensive, direct patient care in a Level I or II Trauma Center environment, utilizing the nursing process to meet the physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients. Responsible for coordinating and supervising nursing staff while ensuring adherence to established standards of care and policies.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' immediate and ongoing care needs, developing individualized care plans that incorporate physical, emotional, and educational aspects.
• Deliver direct patient care in accordance with medical regimens and assessed needs, including responding to changes in patient condition.
• Supervise and evaluate the care provided by licensed practical nurses, nursing attendants, technicians, and supplemental staff.
• Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, documenting patient responses and ensuring timely follow-up and reassessment.
• Coordinate the overall plan of care, integrating age-specific needs for pediatrics, geriatrics, and other populations as applicable.
• Participate in quality improvement activities, educational programs, and staff development initiatives to enhance patient care and professional growth.

Qualifications:

• Hold a BSN degree and at least three (3) years of experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center.
• Demonstrate competency in CRRT operation, ventilator management, tracheostomy and gastrostomy tubes, medication titration, and A-line procedures.
• Possess valid licensure and certifications including TCAR, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and AHA Stroke certification.
• Exhibit strong clinical judgment, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage stressful situations appropriately.
