Together, we're improving health and improving lives.LabCorp is seeking a Histotechnician to join our team in Seattle, WAJob Responsibilities:Process human tissue and body fluid specimens in preparation for microscopic examinationPerform technical duties related to the production of histopathological slides from surgical specimensEmbed, orient, and section tissue using a microtome, ensuring proper slide preparationPerform routine histology procedures, including H&E and special staining techniquesConduct immunohistochemical (IHC) testing on formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sectionsPrepare stains, reagents, and solutions required for laboratory proceduresOperate, maintain, and troubleshoot manual and automated laboratory instrumentationReport accurate and timely test results to support quality patient carePerform and document preventive maintenance and quality control proceduresMaintain accurate equipment logs and documentationFollow laboratory SOPs for specimen handling, processing, analysis, and reportingIdentify, document, and resolve issues that may affect test performanceMaintain a safe work environment and adhere to all laboratory safety protocolsOther related tasks as assignedMinimum Qualifications:Associate's degree in Histology or a High School diploma or equivalent with 1 or more years of histology experiencePreferred Qualifications:ASCP Histology certification1 year or more of experience with routine histology procedures and equipment1 year or more of experience with immunohistochemistry (IHC)Additional Job Standards:Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvementAbility to embed and section both small and large specimensStrong attention to detail and ability to accurately read and verify labelsAbility to work independently and within a team environmentExperience working in a high-volume laboratory settingFamiliarity with laboratory SOPs and safety protocolsStrong organizational and multitasking skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyEffective written and verbal communication skillsAble to pass a standardized color blindness testPay Range: $29.10- $44.47 per hourAll job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market dataBenefits: Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan.
