In this travel Occupational Therapist job, you will support patient care through specialty-specific clinical services, perform assessments and treatments within your scope of practice, document patient progress, operate relevant medical equipment, and collaborate with physicians and the broader care team to help deliver quality patient outcomes.

The inpatient rehabilitation unit serves patients recovering from stroke and other illnesses or injuries who need additional help returning to daily activities. Acute physical therapy services include adult hospital care and neonatal intensive care, distinct from the hospital's inpatient rehabilitation unit.

Stroke care includes neurosurgeons and neurointerventional specialists, with hospital services spanning diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and education.

Hip and knee replacement care includes rehabilitation and education, with orthopedic physicians, therapists and advanced practice providers contributing to treatment.

Palliative medicine supports patients whose pain or other symptoms affect daily life and helps families consider treatment options for complex or advanced illnesses.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' functional, cognitive, and daily-living needs and establish individualized treatment plans and goals
• Deliver occupation-based interventions that rebuild independence in self-care, home, and daily activities
• Recommend and train patients on adaptive equipment, energy-conservation techniques, and home and activity modifications
• Reassess progress and adjust each plan of care as patients advance, directing and collaborating with Occupational Therapy Assistants and the interdisciplinary team

Travel Occupational Therapy Requirements:

• 2+ years of recent Occupational Therapy experience.
• Must hold all required certifications and licenses as mandated by Illinois and national regulatory bodies.
