RN - Ortho/Med-Surg Night Nurse

Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Registered Nurse specializing in Orthopedics and Medical-Surgical care during night shifts. This full-time role offers the opportunity to provide compassionate, professional nursing care under physician guidance in a supportive environment serving the Midwest region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver patient-centered care following established nursing standards and unit protocols.
• Mentor and support new staff and nursing students to foster professional growth.
• Perform nursing duties within the scope of practice, ensuring patient safety and quality care.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive care plans tailored to patient needs.
• Encourage patient independence by involving patients and families in care discussions, including medical treatments, testing, and self-care strategies.
• Administer medications accurately and timely, managing medication orders effectively.
• Educate patients and families on physical, emotional, and psychosocial aspects of care, including symptom and pain management.
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation in compliance with healthcare policies.
• Observe and report changes in patients' physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual conditions.
• Adhere to privacy regulations protecting patient health information.
• Foster effective communication and professional relationships with patients, families, healthcare team members, and external partners.

Education and Experience:

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse licensure in a compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Advanced certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, NIHSS, or AWHONN may be required depending on department policies.
• Previous experience in a similar clinical setting is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

• Strong nursing fundamentals and clinical judgment.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with computer documentation and keyboarding.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements: This role may require occasional heavy lifting (up to 100 lbs) and frequent standing or walking (51-75% of the shift).
