POSITION PURPOSE:

This role is a cross-functional position that assists in the shipping and inventory areas where needed. Assists and ensures that all materials and goods are timely received, replenished and shipped per company procedures. Ensures accurate inventory records through regular physical counts, identification of discrepancies, preparation of crates and paperwork for shipping, and maintaining a clean and organized warehouse environment.

ORGANIZATION FIT

This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisors. This position may also interact in the plant with the Manufacturing, Production Control, Sales, and Finance departments.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

SHIPPING

• Reads, prepares, understands and executes daily shipping schedules. Participates in team meetings and/or checks in with shipping department to plan shipping tasks for day. Prepares for next day shipping needs including kits and loose items.
• Reads, understands and matches Bill of Ladings, Packing Slips and Commercial Invoices. Organizes Packing Lists, Commercial Invoices and Prints Labels for future shipments
• Responsible for arrangement and upkeep of shipping area.
• Packages various Repair and Chemical Kits.
• Setup Return Shipments and Shipping Quotes for Sales team.
• Documents all shipments based on the current Shipping Documentation Procedure, Update Shipping Log, quote log and delivers physical copies to Production Control daily
• Understands the Government Contracts, procedures, and software.
• Understands Hazardous Goods shipping procedures and software.
• Processes small parcel Shipments via Software.
• Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
• Operate forklift or use hand truck as needed to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area. Must be able to become certified to drive the forklift and have ability to follow safety protocol.

MATERIALS

Receiving:

• Receives all incoming shipments. Prepares receiving records, verifies quantities of materials received.
• Records and updates receiving log.
• Performs and documents receiving inspection metrics.
• Works closely with Warehouse Supervisors to resolve receiving discrepancies.

Warehousing:

• Responsible for storage of all incoming raw materials/consumables
• Responsible for arrangement, upkeep, stock rotation (FIFO) and orderliness of raw materials in storage.
• Kits and transfers all MOs in Netsuite

Inventory Control:

• Performs daily cycle counts.
• Fills Work Order carts for production.
• Alerts purchasing/production control when low on consumables/raw materials.

OTHER FUNCTIONS

• All other duties assigned by Warehouse Manager
• Perform all safety checks and use PPE as required

SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS OR WORKING CONDITIONS ( Additional physical requirements are on Physical Requirements Form)

• The position works in a safety-conscious production environment
• Frequent standing, walking, using hands, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling and occasionally lifting up to 90 lbs in order to retrieve, move and work with materials in the plant
• Occasionally exposed to fumes and airborne particles. Noise level is moderate.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

• High School Diploma or equivalent, or combination of relevant work
• Proficiency working on computers is required for some of the inventory and shipping tasks.
• Must have a valid CA driver's license within 3 months of hire.
• Ability to interact with all types of people and provide a high level of customer service.
• Proven ability to communicate positively and clearly, listens and get clarification
• Ability to carry out detailed instructions, apply common sense, and deal with issues timely
• Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Gathers and analyzes information skillfully. Develops alternative solutions where applicable
• Strong, professional work ethic, deadline driven and quality conscious.
• Punctual and regular attendance; willingness to work OT if needed; schedules off time in advance whenever possible. Plans to have responsibilities covered prior to taking time off.

Desired

• 6 months – 1 year of relevant work experience in a shipping or materials department
• Knowledge of Wing product, raw materials, and quality procedures
• Verifiable experience with computers is preferred
