Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Profession: Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Specialty: RRT Duration: 24 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 18:30 - 07:00 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: State RRT License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: Trauma experience required and pediatric intubated patient experience preferred. Description: Minimum experience requirement is 1 year; first timers are accepted. Patient population includes infants to geriatrics, primarily adult patients but also pediatric intubated patients. The facility is a level 2 trauma center with interventional stroke certification, as well as a level 3 NICU. The NICU serves as the regional transport resource. Responsibilities include managing non-invasive ventilation, conventional ventilation, aerosol therapy, bedside pulmonary function tests, performing arterial lines, oxygen management, patient education, performing arterial blood gases, and capillary blood gases. Experience with trauma is required. Preferred experience in pulmonary function testing (Spirometry testing) is also desired. Common tasks include troubleshooting high-pressure alarms and weaning from mechanical ventilation. Familiarity with specific unit systems is important. Candidates must be able to float within the facility and to sister campuses as needed. Involvement with interdisciplinary support teams is essential. Overall, this role demands a commitment to patient care within a diverse patient population.
