SENIOR CLOUD ENGINEER

Department of Technology and Innovation, IT Support Location: 2 N. Lasalle, Suite #1010, Chicago, IL 60602 Shift: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Flexible). Shift may vary due to operational needs. This senior-level position exercises a high level of discretion over technical issues. Essential Duties Research, design, develop, run tests, and evaluate systems that support cloud implementation. Plan and conduct technical tasks associated with the implementation and maintenance of enterprise shared infrastructure. Develop and execute cloud solution roadmaps. Participate in agile team activities and produce product increments that effectively contribute to solution features or components. Work with agile teams and product analysts to gather requirements and plan transition of existing business functions and IT services to a cloud-based environment. Develop time and cost estimates for cloud solutions. Strategically forecast cloud computing expenses for accurate budgeting. Evaluate technical requirements for projects and products to determine impact of cloud technologies on infrastructure. Determine cloud system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. Create the physical design for cloud-based solutions for infrastructure and platforms. Coordinate with Security staff to ensure cloud solutions support a secure technology environment. Align cloud solutions to business and IT strategies. Plan and validate the installation, configuration, and maintenance of cloud architecture. Troubleshoot, diagnose, document, and resolve escalated support problems. Support innovative efforts by driving creativity, acting with agility, and thinking outside current boundaries. Evaluate services provided by vendors and recommend changes. Participate in Agile Release Train (ART) events as required. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in IT Engineering, Computer Science, Business Management, Mathematics, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Science, or a directly related field. Three (3) years of work experience in systems administration, networking, database administration, network engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Desired Skills Certifications or deep knowledge in one or more major cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP, or OCI). Five or more years of experience in Cloud Engineering or Architecture roles. Prior operational experience with Cloud Service Providers. Strong understanding of Cloud Governance. Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) framework.
