APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in Strasburg, VA looking to add a Lead Maintenance Technician to their new operation. Their primary responsibility will be providing the required maintenance for the facility and on all equipment at a recycling plant in Virginia. This position will be based onsite and will report directly to the Maintenance Manager. Keep reading for more details!

Responsibilities:

1. Lead, coach, and direct maintenance technicians to ensure timely and effective completion of maintenance activities
2. Perform and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance on plant equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems
3. Prioritize safety by enforcing strict adherence to safety protocols and fostering a culture of safe work practices
4. Ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime through proactive maintenance planning and execution
5. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and operational issues to maintain production continuity
6. Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance, repairs, and training
7. Conduct routine inspections of equipment, systems, and facilities in compliance with regulatory requirements
8. Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs
9. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance equipment performance
10. Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of plant equipment
11. Communicate maintenance status, risks, and priorities to plant leadership
12. Ensure appropriate safeguarding of equipment and cable to avoid injury or damage
13. Comply with safety protocols/environmental regulations/labor laws at all times
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or technical certification in maintenance, mechanical, electrical, or related field (technical degree preferred)
2. Minimum 3–5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or recycling environments
3. Hands-on experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems
4. Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques
5. Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving and project management skills with team-oriented, collaborative demeanor
6. Exceptional track record of managing maintenance programs/projects
7. Leadership or mentoring experience preferred
8. Strong commitment to workplace safety and operational reliability
9. Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented
10. Possesses strong written & verbal communications, time management, and interpersonal skills
11. Self-motivated with ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage complex/changing priorities
12. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
13. Physically capable and available to work weekends, public holidays, and evenings as needed
