Overview

The Equipment Technician for solar panel production is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repair production equipment to ensure smooth and efficient manufacturing operations. This role supports routine and preventive maintenance tasks, addresses equipment malfunctions promptly, and collaborates with the engineering team to optimize machine performance. The technician ensures that all work complies with safety and quality standards, contributing to high-yield solar panel Production.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Equipment Maintenance:

• Perform preventive and routine maintenance on solar panel production equipment.

• Ensure all equipment operates efficiently and meet production targets.

• Troubleshooting and Repairs:

• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues in production equipment.

• Minimize equipment downtime by addressing malfunctions promptly and effectively.

• Equipment Optimization:

• Support engineers in calibrating and adjusting equipment to improve process efficiency and product quality.

• Assist with the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.

• Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.

• Report recurring issues and recommend solutions to improve equipment reliability.

• Safety and Compliance:

• Adhere to safety protocols and standards when working on equipment.

• Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

• Collaboration:

• Work closely with production, process engineering, and quality teams to address equipment-related challenges.

• Coordinate with equipment vendors and contractors for complex repairs and maintenance.

Required Qualifications:

• Solar Manufacturing Experience

• Technical training or practical experience in automation, electrical technology, electronics, mechatronics, industrial controls, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience supporting industrial automation, controls, electrical systems, or automated manufacturing equipment.

• Hands-on experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, motors, drives, alarms, and interlocks.

• Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, control drawings, and technical manuals.

• Ability to safely use electrical meters, programming devices, diagnostic software, and hand tools.

• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical diploma, certificate, or Engineering degree is a plus.

• Experience with Siemens, Allen-Bradley/Rockwell, or similar PLC platforms.

• Experience with HMIs, VFDs, servo systems, industrial sensors, machine vision, and safety controls.

• Familiarity with Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, Modbus, SCADA, MES, or similar industrial systems.

• Experience in solar, semiconductors, electronics, automotive, automated assembly, or other advanced manufacturing environments.

• Experience with equipment commissioning, production ramp-up, or automation upgrades.

• NFPA 70E, OSHA, Lockout/Tagout, Siemens, Rockwell, CAP, or related certification preferred.

Special Requirements:

• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and control systems used in manufacturing equipment.

• Familiarity with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA systems, and control systems.

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

• Proficiency in diagnostic tools and maintenance software.

• Expertise in maintaining and repairing solar panel production equipment.

• Ability to respond quickly and effectively to equipment issues to minimize downtime.

• Strong focus on safety, quality, and compliance in all aspects of equipment maintenance.

• Collaborative mindset to work effectively with engineering, production, and quality teams.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Excellent communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams.

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with a focus on efficiency and results.
