Title: Teen Services Librarian (Librarian 1) Salary: $58,492 Location: Burlington County Library System, Westampton Open Until Filled About BCLS The Burlington County Library System (BCLS) consists of 15 locations and both a Mobile Library and a Mobile Learning Lab that travel to dozens of community touchpoints throughout the largest county in the state. In addition, a Library by Mail service expands our reach in new and unique ways. Description The Burlington County Library seeks a dynamic and enthusiastic librarian to join its Adult Services team as the Teen Services Librarian. This position will connect library users ages 13-18 to resources and information, enriching and educational programming, and opportunities to grow. Responsibilities Provide outstanding customer service, reference, and readers’ advisory; demonstrate knowledge of print and online resources. Assist with maintenance and development of the library system’s young adult materials collection. Design and implement creative programming for teens and young adults, in and outside of the library. Provide outreach to local high schools and youth-based organizations to promote library resources. Assist with special projects that support the library’s mission. Participate in professional conferences, seminars, and committees; read professional literature; attend and participate in staff meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements A master’s degree in library or information science in a library program accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey Master’s program in Library Science that has been deemed acceptable by Thomas Edison State College. Obtain a valid NJ license as a Professional Librarian within six (6) months of appointment. Schedule 37.5 hours per week, including evenings and weekends. Friday evening rotation September-June; rotating Saturdays; 4 Sundays per year.
