YOUTH ENGAGEMENT SPECIALIST Evening Shift

Position Description The Youth Engagement Specialist will maintain a commitment to the mission and vision of Pivot. Under the direct supervision of Pivot leadership, the Youth Engagement Specialist will adhere to Pivot and shelter operational policies and procedure. The Youth Engagement Specialist will promote a supervised and safe environment to youth that is trauma focused and provides the youth and the community with emotional support. The Youth Engagement Specialist will engage the youth on the 5 domains (Employment, Permanent Connection, Housing and basic needs, Education and Well-being). The Youth Engagement Specialist will maintain a commitment to the mission and vision of Pivot. Position Reports To Director of Family Junction HOURS 3PM-11PM or 4PM-12AM SALARY WIll vary due to experience with a range of 13/Hr-15/HR Qualifications POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Applicant must be 21 years of age, pass an OSBI and DHS criminal background investigation and not be listed in any Registry of Sexual offenders. Demonstrate a commitment to the vision, mission and spirit of Pivot Demonstrate compliance to confidentiality/ privacy standards required by agency and law Be compassionate, respectful and Trauma Informed Care to all Pivot clients, consumers and Pivot staff Demonstrates team skills and respect the diversity and differences of others Demonstrate professional conduct and appearance Basic understanding of adolescent development and behaviors; demonstrate enjoyment of and ability to relate to at-risk youth and exhibit empathy with the joys and pains of others Self-motivation, initiative, sound judgment, and commitment to ongoing learning are essential Must be dependable and able to report to work in a timely manner and work a flexible schedule outside normal business hours, including weekends and holidays Is approachable, builds rapport well and practices attentive and active listening Supports equal and fair treatment and opportunity for all Understand and comply with all Agency policies and procedures; including Child Protection Policies Ability to address conflict well and manage difficult youth in a supportive and non-threatening manner; able to respond quickly and safely and serve as a settling influence in crisis situations and emergencies Minimum high school diploma or a GED certificate, Bachelors degree or further education in Social Work, Human Services, or Psychology preferred Ability to read, understand, analyze and interpret general periodicals, professional journals and government regulations Ability to write reports business correspondence and maintain accurate statistical data Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, consumers, employees, management and general public Ability to perform basic high school mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide, fractions and decimals, percentage, rates and averages) Ability to interpret graphs and statistical data Basic data entry and typing, Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Position Requirements Crisis Intervention Training Posses and Produce valid Oklahoma Drivers License and current vehicle insurance verification Be current and or willing to become certified in CPR, First Aid and Agency Health and Safety procedures #J-18808-Ljbffr Pivot - A Turning Point for Youth
