Michigan Psychiatric & Primary Care Clinic (MPPCC) is one of a few clinics in Michigan or America that integrate Primary and Psychiatric care in one clinic. We are in East Lansing, Michigan. We are seeking an experienced Family nurse practitioner to join three other nurse practitioners to work in our dedicated team. We are seeking a long-term provider who wishes to grow with us. Position Summary

Position: Part-time or full-time Family Nurse Practitioner or Physicians Assistant

You’ll join a team of other providers who provide comprehensive treatment, including intake screening, assessment of health history, physical examination, assess, interpret, and integrate findings to determine appropriate diagnostic, educational, and therapeutic management plans for individuals with acute and chronic illnesses for all ages in the outpatient primary care setting.

Licensing Requirements:

• Master of Science degree in Nursing Practice or Doctor of Nurse Practice degree or Physicians Assistant Studies
• Current certified Family Nurse Practitioner from the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) (Required) Or Certification with the NCCPA
• Current Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licensure with the State of Michigan (Required) or Licensed Physicians Assistant with the State of Michigan
• DEA (Required)

• Must be proficient with managing patients in a fast-paced setting.
• The ability to communicate effectively, in verbal and written form, is a must.

Essential Functions:

• Perform physical examinations, record physical findings, formulate a plan and prognosis based on patient’s conditions for both acute and chronic care management.
• Consult physician colleagues and other members of the clinical team to develop a comprehensive care plan.
• Analyze and interpret patient histories, symptoms, physical findings, diagnostic and laboratory tests, radiographic and clinical studies to develop appropriate diagnoses.
• Develop treatment plans founded in evidence, and according to standards of care and professional practice & guidelines.
• Counsel patients about medication regimens and possible side effects or interactions with other substances, such as supplements, herbs and over-the-counter medications.
• Detect and respond to adverse drug reactions with special attention to vulnerable populations, such as infants, children, pregnant and lactating women, and older adults.
• Educate patients about self-management of acute and chronic illnesses, tailoring instructions to patients’ individual circumstances, and desires.
• Pediatric, adult, geriatric treatment including well-child check-up and physical wellness check-up.
• Documents findings and actions appropriately in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
• Maintains and reviews patient records, charts and other pertinent information.
• Performs evaluations and treatment plans in emergency situations when necessary.
• Maintains patient confidentiality.
• Attends required MPPCC meetings as requested.
• Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations and CME’s.
• Appropriately codes outpatient services within applicable billing guidelines and regulations.
• Works with credentialing staff to maintain current credentialing.
• Patient-centered care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
