BRCC seeks to fill the position of Custodian 2 within the Facilities Department. This is a full-time position that helps maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming campus environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position performs a variety of custodial and facility support duties, including cleaning buildings, maintaining floors and equipment, and assisting with campus events and general upkeep.

Minimum Qualifications: Six months of experience in custodial, housekeeping, groundskeeping, or food service work.

Job Duties:

• Cleans bathrooms, offices, hallways, and any other assigned areas by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing
• Empties and decontaminates trash containers.
• Moves, rearranges, and dusts furniture and fixtures.
• Mixes or blends cleaning solutions to proper concentrations as necessary for various tasks.
• Strips, cleans, and polishes floors using industrial-grade machines.
• Follows procedures for disposing of infectious waste.
• Maintains custodial equipment; reports needs for minor building and/or equipment repairs to a higher-level custodian.
• Sets up tables, chairs, and other furniture for special meetings, banquets, or other occasions as assigned.
• Washes blinds, windows, and walls with prescribed solutions.
• Operates wet/dry vacuum for cleaning and shampooing carpeted areas.
• Strips, decontaminates, and makes beds for patients, residents, students, etc.
• May perform grounds work by picking up trash, watering plants, light mowing, weed trimming, etc.

Position-Specific Details: Appointment Type: Probationary appointment with a one-year agency probationary period. Successful completion of this period is required before obtaining permanent status. Compensation: Anticipated starting salary will be commensurate with education and work experience.
