About the Position

Our client in Iowa is seeking a dedicated Cardiologist for a 60-day assignment. This role involves a Monday-Friday clinic schedule with night and weekend on-call rotations, ensuring comprehensive patient care. The chosen Physician will manage inpatient responsibilities, participate in clinic and outreach rotations, and serve as Doctor of the Week, overseeing patient rounds, admissions, discharges, teaching, and interpreting various cardiac studies.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Provide inpatient responsibilities.
• Participate in clinic and outreach rotations.
• Serve in a Hospital rotation as Doctor of the Week (DOW), which includes rounding on Cardiology patients, admitting, discharging, and teaching fellows on the service.
• Fulfill reading requirements, including rotating as an Echo doctor and supporting echo and nuclear reading with fellows.
• Perform EKGs and Heart Monitors.
• Conduct TEEs and Cardioversions when on DOW service.
• Manage a clinic provider daily volume of 15-20 patients.
• Oversee an average daily hospital practice census of 15-25 patients.

• Call Schedule: Inhouse call with night shifts (5p-8a Mon-Thur, 12:30p-8a Fri) and 24-hour weekend call (Sat/Sun). Minimum availability of 2 weeks per month is required.
• Patients per day: Clinic volume of 15-20 patients; average daily hospital census of 15-25 patients.
• LOA: 60 Days
• Staffing Mix: The team includes 9+ PRN physicians, 2 Cardiac Surgeons, 5 APPs for Cardiology, and 2 PAs for Cardiac Surgery, supported by a team model for nursing.
